Okay so I didn't really see the appeal of this show from the previews, aside from the fact that I was looking at the secret cover identity of Bryce Larkin-

Imagine my surprise to find out that not only is the show pretty inexplicably entertaining, the real draw isn't even the actor that they promote, but it's the more-attractive-than-i-was-expecting FBI agent and his man-i-wish-i-was-married-to-that wife.


And the truth of the matter is I only really wanted to watch the show so I could read and maybe write some fic. XD

As I procrastinate another day of school work, I catch up with the shows I like to watch and generally try to enjoy some RP. Today was actually one of my rare productive days with such things as getting my car estimated for the damage to the passenger door, and talking to the insurance company, and mailing in the rebate for my new (awesome) phone. And going grocery shopping too- now i just need to do laundry.

Anyway, but yes, I get caught up on How I Met Your Mother, and Big Bang Theory, and Psych, and Burn Notice.

It occurs to me that my tastes in fandoms and pairing have shifted a lot, especially this year. When I used to get into something it was all encompassing, I'd generally pick one favorite character and slash the living hell out of them. Now, while I still keep some of this. I'm trending to ensemble shipping more and more, everyone is fair game, slash and het alike.

But I think I'm also getting a bit pickier when it comes to reading fanfic. It's probably a good thing that I don't go through those bouts of constant all consuming internet time. (what i got is close enough anyway)

What I've also noticed however, is that the pairings that I really crave can be hard to find still, always a problem with the rarer pairs. I can't for the life of me find a nice chunk of Lily/Barney from HIMYM.

I think this year will be a good one. Despite the fact that I'm getting older and further behind on what I think my life should be like.. bah, I'll just deal with one thing at a time.

I didn't make any resolutions last year I think I was too drunk to remember them if I did. So this year I'm going to make a few and see how it goes.

What I'd like to do this year:

- get back into fanfic writing. It might seem like a silly resolution, but I miss letting myself get all wrapped up in fictional characters and giving them happy endings.

- finish my degree. I'm working on it! Not quitting is a big step for me. Now if I can up those grades a bit...

- Go to a gay bar!

- take up some kind of sport or physical hobby.

- start saving for a house. I'd like to find someplace to settle down in. and someone to share it with /sap. .

- Trip to Las Vegas!!!! (if not this year, then next year for sure! )

- help someone without taking credit and/or volunteer to do something and stick with it.

What can I say? I thought I was out of the whole muse game, or at least, out of it enough that it wasn't going to hold the appeal that it has for the past couple of years. ...and then I picked up a Bones muse. Goddamnit Bones. Why do you rule my life?

Actually I've been having a lot of fun working on a whole Bones/Spock RP verse. It's like writing fanfic, but with someone else. Kind of fun. ^_^
